“After the mess has finally been cleared, we’ll see that we haven’t come out of this tragedy bruised and beaten -we’re bound to rise from the situation in full glory, beaming with the most unadulterated sense of pride, the kind that hasn’t been felt in decades.”

Wish I could help with the relief efforts
josetonio: niknok: (via josetonio) Come here! Hehe. I seriously want to. I WANT TO! But my passport is expiring… I can’t travel for a month :’( But.. AHH! I WANT TO! Well, I think there are three things you can do that will really help. (A) Send money. Hehe. But, yeah, if you can, go. (B) Disseminate info. And bug people in the Philippines to get off their butts and get dirty. And (C)...

My dad is currently looking for someone who can lend us mountain bikes so we can go out and help look for missing people tomorrow. I wish they’d suspend classes for the week so we can help out more.

veronicaperalejo: (via thegoodstuff) This is a very stupid hoax. The “Marikina Dam” does not even exist! It was a project proposed by Marcos back in the 70s but it was rejected by the people. If any of you received this message, don’t forward it.

Just got back home from Quezon City.  Spent the afternoon gathering and organizing relief goods at VCF QC. Then we brought all the goods to NDCC for them to distribute to the people.  (Oh, I drove. :D )Tomorrow morning Reggie Rocha and I are going back to continue helping.  We might actually be able to bring the goods straight to Marikina where they’re really needed. Friends, please...

kyerabianca: I would suggest using her as a boat but she’s really tiny so never mind. She can just go drown in a bathtub. Excuse me while I wait for my blood to stop boiling. Breakfast at Tiffany’s Felicity Got me a case of the Mean Reds today.  If Holly Golightly goes off to find solace at Tiffany’s, I inadvertently found mine at this gem of a store called Felicity.  It has always been my favorite store, though I can’t afford any of the things in there, and I rarely go there because it’s quite far from my home.  But whenever I happen to be in...

dream 11.24.09 →
One of the scariest dreams I’ve ever had.  It’s not really well written, though my intention is really to document the dream, and not to share it, but it was just so freaky…!  I’d really just rather tell you all in person, but many of you are far away, so here.  But the summary of my dream is this: I got trapped in a demonic-twilight-zone-building, died, lived again,...

Me: [Brief explanation...]
Corpse: Ouch... A girl did that to me. It sucked.
Me: Yeah, I know. It (...I) was terrible.
Corpse: Yeah. Sucked.
Me: In behalf of all the women in the world, I'm sorry.
Corpse: It's alright.
Corpse: The girl and I are friends now.

I believe in the inefficiency of Romance. I believe in the irrationality of Worship. I believe in the absurdity of complete Abandon. I believe that somewhere in us, we need to be inefficient. We need to be irrational. We need to be absurd!  (And silly, too.) Furthermore, I continue to believe in the existence of a God who’s goodness is utterly indescribable, who does not only let me live,...

nightingalefloor: She stopped abruptly. Her feet were dusty, and scratched raw, veterans cursed with wanderlust. She stood at a fork in the road. Held her breath, let it out. It was almost ominous. The sun hung in the sky and held its breath with her. The washed-out sky held its breath. The wind stopped moving. The flowers stood still. Even the birds swallowed their songs and lighted in the...
